Right, so I've posted a few times over the past couple of days about issues I've been having running Spore (See here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1017934) and here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1019477))
Now, in my second link someone mentioned about using git-core. I'd remembered seeing it mentioned in another post I'd found earlier in the day and I followed the directions linked at the bottom of this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=920166).
I found I couldn't complete the last few steps in the second link so, frustrated, I re-installed wine.
Now I'm running into all kinds of insane issues, I'm completely unable to install anything at all. I've tried emulating 98, XP and Vista and am sadly still having no luck.
I'm getting different errors for each game I try to install so i've attached three screenshots detailing the errors. I've tried uninstalling via both synaptic and purging via terminal then re-installing but still nada.
I really hope someone can help!
[EDIT] Solved! I had to go into my home folder and remove everything I'd done with git, then re-install wine. It's now working ok for everything except spore (d'oh!)
