Help! WoW almost working

I am fairly new to Linux but so far I like it. I've been trying to get WoW to run in Wine but no luck, here is the information I think is pertinent;

Wine version: 1.1.10
Ubuntu: 8.10

Hardware: Lattitude D620
Video (from lspci cmd): Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

I know this no killer machine but it does run WoW under Windows. The game starts, I see the WOTLK dragon and its animation and I have sound but all the text boxes (i.e. Username, password) and button are black. I also run Compiz.
