The poll question pretty much sums it up. How many of you would rather play a Windows game (Half-Life, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, etc...) in GNU/Linux using Wine as opposed to booting up Windows itself?

Not many apps except very basic ones run perfect in WINE. Maybe the basic things you need work but there are always things that don't work.

I don't (want to) have/own a copy of Windows so I use Wine. I don't play many games (mostly classic RTS games like AOEII and such), and everything I have tried so far worked. So, that's perfect for me.

I prefer wine, mainly because of virtual desktop (aside from not having to pay MS).
My XP Desktop actually crashes more often than my Ubuntu laptop with certain things, but both crash occasionally. In Windows, it takes out my entire session, so I have to reboot. In wine, errors just kill the wineserver and I have to restart the application.
I haven't noticed any speed issues, but I've got a nice GPU and a nicer CPU, so perhaps I'm just glossing over the performance hits.

I have a dual-boot setup but Linux is my OS of choice, wine lets me play the few games I play without having to reboot every time.

I don't like the lower FPS and the graphical glitches I get with many games with wine, but I like the improved loading times, better system stability and the ability to switch in an out of a game much more quickly. And windows is a pain in the **** to use and maintain so generally if I can't get a game to run with wine, I don't bother.

Wine, when it works. I never have to worry about some "Smart" installer deciding I need the latest version of DirectX...from 1998.

Wine when it works and my machine can handle the overhead.
