View Full Version : No HUD/crosshairs/sound in Sauerbraten

I thought I'd try a new FPS since I've been playing Nexuiz for a while. Downloaded Sauerbraten via Synaptic. Everything went well and the game play was good for the first while. In my attempts to open doors, I must have inadvertently hit some crazy key combination that has removed the HUD, the crosshairs, and the sound. Yes, I've looked through the options and found that nothing there makes any difference. Searching the net has, apparently, the game author saying you can use the command line with a bizillion codes to affect the game changes you want.

How do I do that? I've tried running it in terminal: sauerbraten hidehud B , which is supposed to toggle all the HUD info, crosshairs and the like but to no avail.

I'm at a loss. I've uninstalled it several times and every purged it from terminal but each time I install it, it comes up the same.

Please tell me there is hope. This game does look promising.

Thanks.

Same thing happened to me, but after typing that code it displayed everything back to the way it was but type it in the console instead of as a command line argument :)

Thats been the most buggy game I ever tried to run. Been trying for years to get it to work on different distros.
