[SOLVED] Unreal GOTY - should i install direct x 7????

i did manage to install Unreal GOTY with one of the liki installers and then for some unknown reason it has decided to not work any more.
deleteed it all and re install and same thing

so now im going to try wine. infact i have installed it via wine and it runs ok

but i did not tell it to install direct x 7 as im unsure if wine supports it


can i install direct x 7 & get a bit better vidieo out of the game at all??

well, in answer to my own question, i followed the link i posted above to install direct x 9c and ran UT GOTY again

the video is much smoother

the music plays fine

voices are stuttered

so i disabled voices and it runs like a charm and much smoother then with not having dx installed in the first place
