Hi.

I have an asus eeepc 1000 (8+32 GB ssd)
But I have a problem. I had the same problem in 8.4, and now I use 8.10.
Sometimes the led indicating drive usage starts to glow and the I/O wait color in the system monitor applet goes to 50% (maybe it is 100% but interpreted as 50% because of hyperthreading) and the program I am working on is locked for ~15sec and then the program resumes, the led is turned off and the system monitor goes back to no I/O wait.
Sometimes this is triggered when I do something. Such as saving a file or opening a program or just inputing text in a box. But sometimes it starts without me doing anything. I can just have it play music and the disk usage goes to full and all programs are locked (except window manager, I can move windows and tab between them. But all programs turn grey as in not responding)

I have a friend with the 901 model. And he experiences similar problems.
Anyone know anything about this? Is there any way I can check what processes uses the disk. htop and the system monitor does not show any kind of I/O.

This is very annoying. Any help would be appreciated
