Im having so many graphic card problems(yes nvidia) that i want to try a fresh install from live 8.10 cd.Past forum help found some issues with my downloaded upgrade from Hardy and maybe there are others i havnt found yet.Are there any tutorials or step by step directions to help me with a replacment on a dual boot system.I assume i install with manual partition option but the bar graph seems to look like its taking over the whole disk space

This guides are fine:
choose the systems you want to use, and the installation order:

http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_windows_xp_and_linux_xp_installed _first.htm

.. and please make a back-up of your important data. You never know.

thanks Mike but these use the guided partition(that i used for the original dual boot install)but i need to know how to put the new Intrepid 'on top' of the old Intrepid and leave my windows alone and i think that takes the manual partition option or i need to erase the first ubuntu and start from scratch, but i dont know how to do either way

Here's a tutorial on using the "manual" partitioning option:

Let me know if that helps.

thanks for trying caljohn but that is link for triple boot and very scary at that but it did make me consider shrinking my first Intrepid so small as to be useless and putting second Intrepid after it but it would still be in my boot list and would try to boot first and i would have to pay attention to boot menu every time i turned on my box so it doesnt seem to be practical
