Just a post to say hi.
After getting fed up of Gentoo I took the plunge and installed Kubuntu (not a GNOME fan here). 28 hours later, I have everything I need ready (except Japanese input, but that should be easy sorted...). A refreshing change from Gentoo (I didn't realise just how long KDE would take to build ^_^)
Anyway, I've been using (other) Linux(en) for quite a while now, so I hope I'll be able to help a few people out if they ask.

I also just switched. I had used Debian for 3 years, but I got tired of a lot of elements of it.
I am glad I switched to Ubuntu, after 2 hours I have my Gnome setup just the way I want it.
I am really liking this.
I love Debian, and it stays on my server, but I really like Ubuntu for my desktop.

Hey, welcome to ubuntu.... It helps to have more people use Kubuntu so that the community becomes more balanced out..
