midisport 4x4 and reason problems

I can play my midi keyboard with REASON when I plug it in via USB, the trouble comes in when I try to plug it in to the midisport with midi cables (the midisport being powered USB) and play it in REASON. I get a midi error message upon opening REASON and also a folder titled midi core pops up. Anyone else ran into this?

What version of reason are you running, what version of Wine are you running, and do you have the midisport working on native linux software?
