i hate to say it but i'm tired of the whole os war comptetion thats taking place. i love like windows except for vista, i love linux and from what i've played with in MAC os it seems ok. but i'm just kinda tired of the whole who performs what better and who has the better compatability or better features and programs. honestly screw it all. i miss it when you turned your pc on and all there was was a blinking dash waiting for you to tell it to do something. all time fav operating interface MS-DOS. i miss dos, you never had to worry about having to send an error report to microsoft because windows explorer somehow managed to perform an illegal action. there are days when i prefer my commodore64 or my apple IIe or even my TI-99 over my high performance computers all due to a factor of safety. anybody else feel this way?

I agree with you about the dos part. DOS kicked alot of butt. Its what attracted me to Linux: "What? They still use command line? Cool!!"

C64 was my first computer and I really learned alot from it. It was a great system, I still kind of miss it at times. )c:

I can safely say I somewhat miss DOS, then again I don't. So many programs I use nowadays require the advanced workings of windows itself. (IE: Pidgin, Windows Media Player)

i agree with that as well. from my years with computers i've come to rely heavily on command lines and am often ridiculed by some for choosing primarly on command line as opposed to installing through a graphical user friendly interface.

GUI's are nice but if something goes wrong you're going to get a more meaningful error message if you launched from terminal.
