I really like using wine but there are some things that are just annoying.

When I install wine and try to click a bash script file (.sh) it gets directed to wine. Problem has something to do with certain .exe files are labeled as mime types? Does this problem persist on xubuntu because I never saw it before.

Winbinds... wtf does it do?? All I know is it binds to some port and does server related stuff using windows technology.. Seriously don't feel safe even though I never use windows programs that involve the network.

I also was browsing some wine files and noticed something about auto start. Is that functional or just for spoofing the programs? Does that mean something can auto start when I run wine? If I wanted something to auto start with wine wouldn't I specify that with my current operating system? I just see my comp getting hammered by bloatware.

Are there any other features that **** you off? Can anyone list where we can read up on these specific features? I saw a few launchpad reports of these.

I was never a big fan of the the "feature" where they added startup support about a year ago.
I had like 6 pieces of software I'd forgotten about lauching everytime I started WINE.

I was able to remove them the same way I used to on ***dows back in the day by using: http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
