I just installed xUbuntu on an old machine.

My wireless card was auto-detected, no problem.

I connect to my network, no problem.

I obtain a proper IP from my router, no problem.

I can ping my gateway, as well as websites like google, no problem.

But when I try to load a page in firefox, or connect with pidgin, or update my package repository I get nothing. NOTHING.

What could possibly be the issue here?

Nothing, hey?

This is so strange, it seems like my problem is exclusively application or transport layer but, being relatively new to Ubuntu, I haven't the faintest idea how to further troubleshoot.

K, this'll be the last time I bump this.
