I'm interested in learning to code python, and I need help with some basics.
finding a resource to learn to code python from
finding a place to search for python commands
and finally, i need assistance with a little project i'm working on. I want to modify either the AmarokControl screenlet or Amarok Desktop script to show only album art as a screenlet. My problem with the Desktop script is that i'm in Gnome and i think it has problems with compiz or something because it only shows up one workspace and disappears if i use the expo feature of compiz

thank you all for your help!

Read the Sticky threads at the top of this forum, they offer a lot of great places to get started with many languages.

Python is a common favorite around here. If you're looking for a great "jumping off point" look at pmasiar's Wiki:
http://learnpython.pbwiki.com/

Great resources, should keep you busy a while.
