Hi...

I recently installed Ubuntu on to my 4gb flash drive.

I am able to boot my laptop to Ubuntu, however not my desktop PC.

When I run it on my desktop it brings up the boot options then once I have chosen the option I want it loads the Ubuntu splash screen. Everything loads up correctly but there comes a point where the screen goes blank other than the rotating cursor icon which is in the middle of the screen. It freezes here.

Why would it work on my laptopbut not my desktop? might it have something to do witht he type of screen I am using? I am not using a regular monitor, I have a 32" plasma TV connected.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Most likely a video driver issue. What video cards are you using and did you install the restricted driver from your laptop?

Yah .. maybe try to dig out of the garage some old Analog monitor, I keep one around just and case, and try to see if it looks okay with that. If it does, then it would seem to make sense that it was indeed the video driver and/or the X display settings.
