Hey guys im not sure where to put this, but anyways as for those coders developing for Linux, (im using Ubuntu BTW), your purpose is to find problems with Linux's code and help fix them right? Well I've been hacked on my old windows machine before by a hacker using a site that lists exploits in code, and its updated basically EVERY DAY!, and I see Linux exploits listed on it when I checked. This is NOT spam, NOT a link to a malicious software site, and im NOT trying to "trick" or infect anybody , the link I'm posting is of a hacker community site that lists exploits in all common OS's that are found new within atleast every week! I just dont know if you all knew about it or not, but anyways http://www.milw0rm.org/ is a site that lists exploits, and I hope that you coders can get a headsup on new problems and how to fix them because the exploits that you're looking for to patch? they are all listed there. Does me posting this link help in any way?

There are many other as well.

I think you may find this interesting: http://www.remote-exploit.org/backtrack_download.html

Back Track 3 is a Linux distro specifically made for penetration testing.

Milw0rm, among others is in your firefox bookmarks by default.

I am certain the Linux developers are well aware of sites that contain those exploits.

If they are reported by ethical hackers (usually are), they will inform both A) the publisher of the software containing the exploit B) the public via sites such as milw0rm

Ethical hackers release these exploits to the public in order to put pressure on the vendors to fix it.

I hope this helps explain things a bit better.

Moved to Packaging and Compiling Programs. Feel free to PM me if you think there is a better sub-forum for the thread.
