View Full Version : [ubuntu] 8.04 screen refresh @72Hz on live cd but install and get max of 52 Hz

i dont get it, on the live cd i can set my screen refesh to 72 Hzand it works just fine, but once it is installed to hdd it wont go above 52 Hz

i have also tried Linux Mint 5 Rc1 based on 8.04 and it also does the same

any ideas why i cant get 72 Hz on my lcd screen after its installed to hdd????

Is this a crt or lcd. If lcd just ignore it.

Right click "Applications" then "Edit Menu" from the GUI in the left hand column select "Other" then in the R/H column "Screen and Graphics". Close. Then Applications>Other>Screen and Graphics. When the GUI pops up select your hardware and desired screen res settings. If "Screen and Graphics" doesn't appear first time round then reboot and it should be there. That fixed it for me in 8.04
