hi,
new ubu user, been using mandriva and its likeness for 6 years.
i have a linksys wusb111 which using ndiswrapper finds my network just fine
HOWEVER, i have wep enabled and use a common text phrase as the pass key.
in all UBU distros (xubu, kubu, ubu and myth) i can see the network but i cant connect.
it SEEMS as though when i go to configure that WEP key there is one selection missing that most other distros offer.
that is a 40bit ASCII key.
if i choose the 40/128 bit key and enter my phrase (lets say its "george") it tries to connect, but then gets refused.
it then comes back and offers to re enter the wep, but no matter what nothing works.
again on all the MDV distros, and puppy and wolvix for that matter, connection is NO problem.
they offer me the option of 40 bit ASCII wep, but ubu doesnt.
other than changing the key on ALL my other pc's to a 128 bit hex key, anyone have any ideas?
thanks
