Hi All,

I'm running the following version of Java:

java version "1.6.0_0"
IcedTea6 1.3.1 (6b12-0ubuntu6) Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_0-b12)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 1.6.0_0-b12, mixed mode)

I do Swing programming using NetBeans 6.5 because I like its visual editor but I can't seem to be able to use the new Nimbus look and feel because it doesn't seem to be in the version of Java that's installed on my machine. I'm running Intrepid.

Does anyone know when Nimbus will be in the IcedTea distribution?

Thanks,

Fred.

Stop using IcedTea and use the Sun JVM instead.

+1

If you are at least half serious about your Java development go with Sun Java.

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
