Greetings,
I am interested to know if anyone tried to update the current Firefox 3.0 and replace it with the experimental Firefox 3.1 Alpha (Shiretoko).

I know it is working well within the Windows environment, and I would love to get it to work inside my Ubuntu as well.

This is the Mozilla page for the project - http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/3.1a1/releasenotes/#install

It holds the packages for the Windows/OS X/Linux platforms.
So anyone knows how to compile that? Or make that work?

My knowledge around the linux is still pretty limited, and so I would love if anyone can help with this one.

If your running Intrepid it is in synaptic, and runs in conjunction with FF3.0.4 so don't remove that if you install. All the plugins and bookmarks are added to the download but any additional bookmarks stay on either setup. Here is a about:config link to enable the add ons in the download,

Install from synaptic in Ubuntu for the easiest install.
