It has a post that says its by me. I made the most, but someone put turned it into a thread and made "xequence is a freaking windows user for peet's sake." as the title.
I am just so frusterated with this place latly. It has been going downhill alot. Two staff members are treating me very horribly.
I am pretty sure darkmatter did the whole thingy, since they posted "Besides... you use Windows for crying out loud... why are you still here???" on it.
And all just because I told staff members to shut up when they were fighting.
What is my point it all of this? Well, first of all, in response to stupid ol' darkmatter, I HAVE A 20 GB HARD DRIVE. TWO OSES PLUS A MUSIC COLLECTION JUST DONT GO WELL WITH IT. (Space and stuff you know ;)) I have plainly said many times I am hoping to buy a new computer soon, with a big hard drive, for two OSes. What does that dude have against windows users anyway?
This place has been going downhill for months now. I am sure some users will read this and think in their heads "yep, I know what you mean" and others will think exactly what darkmatter said.
This is the farthest thing ive seen from Humanity Towards Others yet though. It is really making me reconsider putting ubuntu on my new computer when I get it, if I am going to be treated like this when I come on the official forums...
Its pretty pathetic when staff members abuse their powers because they dont like windows and people who use it. And when I PM one of them about removing my post, asking for clarifacation, they dont reply. (You know who you are.)
Oh, and no offense towards any of the other staff members that are not involved in this.
Oh, and incase you happen to be wondering why I didnt put it in the forum resolution center, it is because this post isnt wholely about the post moved to the jail. Its about this forums in general.

Thanks =)
I love posting long thought out posts like that. It makes me a little less mad about the accual thing, oddly enough. Though I know it will just be shot down with one sentence from someone.

xequence I am sorry that you feel that have not been treated correctly.
And of course there is no requirement to have Ubuntu installed to be a member of this community. Your point regarding your space is noted ,20gb is small , damm I remember when I thought 20gb is more than I would ever need , but i digress.
Anyway please accept our apologies, and yes we will get the forum back to the great place it has always been .

We better get the forum back to how it used to be. These forums are literally turning into a PILE OF ****. Too much **** has happened over these last maybe four or five months... the whole thing with the staff being kicked off, the automatix ****..
I have a strong urge to get the hell out of these forums before I become more involved here... I really love the forums, but they've been rather bad lately.

I signed on here shortly after the staff exodus. I'm not sure how they behaved before their demotion but some of them are too disruptive to stay here, imo.
The criteria for staff selection is one of the things that UG is going to take a look at. There are some staff that have fiery dispositions and I've always wondered why they were selected. The bottom-line is that the Admins run the board and they are responsible for creating the culture...who they select for staff is a big part of that.

Opinions are never a problem--it's how you express yourself that can become a problem.
I have many friends with different religious and political beliefs. It isn't a problem because we treat each other with respect and know when to back of for the sake of our friendship. That's what we're looking for in users, and moderators should be setting an example in that regard. Of course, that's just my opinion.

By reading xequence post, I think xequence pal, you really don't have the right to tell them to shut up, There is a big mess going on, and if you don't understand, telling them to shut up is the worse error ever, just going to heat things more.
For you all people, keep your head cool before going to do rude comments.

Just to clarify:
Your post was NOT jailed by darkmatter. I have spoken to him about this.
It was jailed by an admin, because it was on the whole, rude and offensive.
I have read it, and concur with the decision.
The re-title was an oversight, as the jail wasn't public, and you upset the admin.
On behalf of the admin, we are sorry for that, you have our full apologies.
When you post to forums there is a fine line between rude and offensive and criticising someone.
The rough guideline is:
DON'T call people names. DON'T swear. BE RESPECTFUL.
Even if you are upset with what has been said, step away from the computer for 10 minutes and imagine you are replying to a lawyer or solicitor. keep it business like and respectful.

I didn't do this....
Thank you

P.S. The windows user remark was added IN the jail...

I also throw in my apology. I was not the one who performed the move or rename. It's yet another case of action out of line with moderator guidelines.
This will not happen again.

Unfortunate, since id like your side of the story on your windows post. I just dont get it - shouldent you be nice to anyone, nomatter what OS they use? Does it really matter if someone who doesent use the same OS as you is on the same forums?

Well, then I am sorry to darkmatter for thinking he jailed it. (You know, the changed title of the post and what he posted were similar, thats why I thought he did it.)

I guessed that.
DON'T call people names. DON'T swear. BE RESPECTFUL.
I dont believe I called anyone names. Just told them to stop taking over someones thread with their fighting. I dont swear.
About respectful, its all opinion, but at the time I respected all the people there whether you believe it or not.

By fighting in public it will just get more and more people to join in. One person will take someones side, another will take another persons side. It will be a big giant fight. I wanted to try and stop it, even a little bit.
Lastly - to summerize my post - I am very happy both of you apoligized, thank you very much. I have very much respect for both of you. (Even though it wasnt any of you I have a problem with). Bonzodog, I wasnt critisizing anyone, just telling them that this really wasnt the place to fight, and that noone really wanted to hear it. I am pretty sure I know who jailed it. My point, bonzo, is that when people ACCUALLY call others names and insult them (example: people said others were an insult to linux, and stuff like that) and accually fight, they are the ones who should have their posts to the jail. Not the person who tried to stop it all.

Very well...it was not personal, nor an issue of what os you use. I had editted my post in the jail (was still closed at the time) because I was... in a bad mood, and needed to vent. You were not intended to see it, and it was... as I said.. venting to avoid conflict with you, as I have respect for all who come here... but sometimes patience wears thin... and we all need to find ways to deal...
If you are offended... then I apologize
