ALEKS for School - Help Please!

Hi,
I'm a student using Ubuntu at home and I need ALEKS for school. I sifted thru the forums and found a tutorial and tried it to no avail. Here's my output for locate aleksPack10.jar


/home/tom/Documents/Downloads/Firefox/ALEKS/aleksPack10.jar
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.10/ext/aleksPack10.jar
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.10/jre/lib/ext/aleksPack10.jar


Here is the tutorial for pre-Hardy and Hardy is linked in the thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=527934). I am using Jaunty, alpha 1, but had problems on Intrepid, too.

I know this is too late to help the original poster, but I was able to get ALEKS working in Ubuntu 9.04 with no problem. I just followed the directions at the aleks.com website and it works great!
