Are you sure Windows is asking for a driver for your CD drive? Because optical drives don't need drivers, they are all standard devices.

Have you tried registering on the samsung site and getting support online (click here) (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/repaironline/supportOnlineServiceRequest.do)? I know that may sound a little farfetched, but it'd be worth a try.
Or, have you tried reinstalling the OS using the disk that came with your computer? Or did one not come with it?

As always when windows asks for A it needs C ...
What it really wanted was the SATA driver ...
I unfortunaltly got VIsta too install and after half an hour Vista nobody can tell me Superiority is in the eyes of the user ...
Anyway happy i just re-install ubuntu 8.04 (after finding out i actually have sound here) ... the installation time is about 1 Vista install minute 20 Ubuntu install seconds or so ...
Thanks for helping /me
