why not simply use SSH?

Yes, I use it in a support capacity for small businesses and home users. If they're worried about security, they can disable the daemon until they need my help.

If you're looking to use it on Linux, it doesn't - it's Windows only. However, it works fine using Linux as the client, using java instead of ActiveX obviously.

I'd rather use ssh or VNC, but a few friends that have used it for a while have had no issues with it.

I've been using it for awhile on my folks computers (both windows) and it works fine. Its probably not as secure as ssh or some of the other options available in linux but its handy if you have multiple systems at the same location behind the same router and you don't want to poke holes in your security.

well the advantage of this is , everything runs on a browser , no client software needed.. although it doesnt support linux.
