Atheros not on? Please help! Urgent

I have a atheros chipset that is detected by ubutunu when i type iwconfig it finds it but when i click the networking icon up the top the "Wireless Networks" is greyed out??

How do i fix this? :guitar:

I have this same issue, I have never been able to get wireless to work with ubuntu, I have however had it working with fedora with no effort at all.

Hopefully someone can help you (us) as I prefer ubuntu.

make sure that there is no reference to the wireless interface in /etc/network/interfaces
