Ok, I'm getting ready to switch from Ubuntu on my laptop to having Ubuntu dual booting on my new desktop. I'm ordering a second HD today to put into the pc for the dual boot. If anyone has a link for a FAQ or how-to about setting it up that way, please post it.
My question has to do with the power of my desktop. It's an Intel quad core extreme (qx6850 i believe) with 4GB of pc8500 Ram which I'll be bumping up to 8GB after the holidays. It also has the Nvidia 9600GT, but I found a compatible driver for it on Nvidia's site already. How much Ram can Ubuntu handle? I believe I'll have to use the 64bit version of Ubuntu (correct me if I'm wrong), but I wanted to make sure that it will run. If anyone has any documentation for me to read or knowledge on the subject, please share.
Thanks!
