I want windows to cover the bottom panel when they ae maximized. And when i take my cursor to the bottom of the screen, it should come back. How do i go about doing this? This is present in OpenSuse11. Im on 8.10 presently

Under panel properties, you can enable "hide" buttons with arrows so you can hide the panel when you want full screen. Or F11 will do and undo full screen.

make sure you're in the "general" tab. Also, it might be called "autohide"

I was under the impression that you can auto-hide the panel when not in use. I believe this would be the setting you're looking for :)

There was a long thread a short time ago, discussing panel options. I'm surprised how many users here use just a top panel, and delete the bottom one. I'm not that familiar with Kubuntu, so I'm not sure if that's an option for you to move the panel to the top, but that might be something to think about.

Hi,

thanks for your replies. But im on KDE4. I will look around in other threads. I get only three options in panel properties. Add widgets, remove panel and lock widgets. In open suse 11 there is a specific menu which says 'more' and in that theres an option to to say auto-hide.. let other windows cover when maximized ( which i want ) etc. I know its there for panels in GNOME.
