I was wondering if anybody knew how to make the caret invisible in a wx.TextCtrl object.

I haven't used wxPython, but might it work to give focus to some other component?

Actually, I guess my question isn't Python specific. I've been using wxWidgets with C++ as well.

I can't say that I completely understand what you mean, I want the focus to be on the TextCtrl. Perhaps there is something I can use in place of a TextCtrl? Something that doesn't have a caret but prints text or numbers.

Edit: I learned over in http://wxforum.shadonet.com that I would probably need to make a custom widget. But I am an OO programming novice, so it may be a little while before I can do this.
