I build a vanilla kernel.org 2.6.14.3 kernel and everything seems to work, but the CD-ROM is missing.
For my .config file I started with the stock Breezy config-2.6.12-10-686 and for all the make oldconfig choices I took the defaults.
When I boot the stock kernel I see mention of the CD-ROM in /var/log/messages at boot, but not with my custom kernel. (It appears the CD-ROM driver is being loaded as a module. Who loads those modules?)
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
