I am looking for a 5.1 or preferably a 7.1 card that has a digital optical port.
Any ideas on which card will work right out of the box?
Only looking to spend around $25.
Thanks.

thank you.
How were you able to tell it will work with ubuntu?
What is the quality of that company/card?
I see it says made in china on the board... which most of our parts probably are.
Should this one just plug right in and start working?
Where does the 7.1 come into play? It seems to just have the normal ports for a regular 5.1 setup... so where would I plug the extra 2 side speakers? In back?
Perhaps since I am going to be using the optical port to hook up to my sony surrond sound... I would only need 5.1 not 7.1?
This would leave all of the other ports open for me to plug in two side speakers...
but will it work like that?
