strange install problem

Intrepid install stalls at "loading wireless"
A couple times it made it to the desktop,but I had no mouse or keyboard.

Try the installation in "safe graphics mode" that'll overcome the no-mouse problem . . .

Cant you connect a wired link just for the installation ?
