View Full Version : [xubuntu] I need help with my wireless card.

I have an onboard card that uses the rtl8187 drivers. As far as I've seen the driver is supposed to be a part of the 2.6.27 kernel but on my computer the connection is very shoddy. It only shows 17% for any wireless connection and even when I connect to my network my connection doesn't actually go through. I found some linux drivers for the rtl8187 card but I have no idea how to install them. Can anyone help me out?

You should check out this thread it covers the realtek rtl8187 here. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=571188
It's about 1/2 way down the page.

Actually amazingly enough my card seems to be working just fine. It still only shows 18% connection signal but my connection seems to be fine.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. There are way too many wifi issues right now to take the chance.
